What
People Say |
| |
| "The Voice of the
Soul is the luminous, lyrical expression of a genuine
spiritual pilgrim. Judith Pennington's insights continually
refresh and inspire us. They are a reminder that the spiritual
side of life makes life worth living." |
| Larry
Dossey, M.D.,
Holistic pioneer |
| |
| "Judith's book describes
in a beautiful and moving manner the personal spiritual
experience of one dedicated seeker of the Divine that
is within and all around us." |
Barbara
Brennan, Ph.D.,
Spiritual leader |
| |
| "Reading
The Voice of the Soul opened the door to God for me: it
helped me feel the beauty and love of God, where before
I saw only blame and desolation. It helped me see beyond
myself to the God inside me and put me on a path that
is filled with faith and hope." |
|
Jodie Dreher,
College student |
"What a wonderful book. Thanks so much for writing
it. It was the perfect mixture of science and spirituality
that I so desperately wanted." |
|
Bert Fife, Entrepeneur,

| |
| "...packed
with gems of wisdom and enlightening ideas." |
|
Venture Inward magazine |
| |
| "Unlike
anything else you've ever read, this book can help lead
you to your own truth. And that is the highest and best
purpose to which any work can aspire." |
Christian
Allman, author-publisher
New Orleans, La. |
"A heartwarming journey of awakening, this book is
an intriguing account of how the soul guides the personality
to experience fulfillment with the deepest self–the
God-self. There is profound simplicity and bare honesty
to Judith’s mystical adventure that invites us to
ponder our own path to greater self-awareness... Judith’s
dance with the divine is a daring and pioneering template
for healing and renewal." |
Keith Varnum,
Teacher and author
|
| |
| "
It’s such a forthright and honest journey. It shows
people that no matter what their journey is, it’s
no use holding on to the past. I think it very clearly
says that and how, through all our difficulties, we have
a guiding North Star pulling us toward the spiritual horizon–and
that we all have one! Your book really takes people out
of ideas of unworthiness and religious damnation to the
essence of what is." |

Singer-songwriter David Aucoin
|
| |
|
David
Aucoin, a singer-songwriter based in Baton
Rouge, La., writes some of the most melodious
music you'll ever hear. It's by turns peaceful
and beautiful, driving and majestic, with
eloquent lyrics that open doors to reveal
the struggle of the human heart and the longings
of the earthbound soul. |
|
| |
| Casual
listeners find themselves humming snatches of David's
songs and going back to his music to zoom in on
his lyrics. Careful listeners are often transformed
by the pure poetry in lyrics like the first two
verses of "I Will Always Be With You": |
| |
| I
heard a voice today, from deep within |
| I
had a turning point, I'll walk with Him |
| I
fell in love today, when I awoke. |
| |
| My
heart was opened, no door could close |
| I
feel so open now, my life's exposed |
| The
future's calling me |
| To
higher ground. |
| |
| And
I will walk the valleys and mountains. |
| No
matter how far I go |
| I
will always be with You |
| No
matter what I do |
| I
will always be with You always. |
|
| David's
spirituality is rooted in the earliest days of Christianity,
when Jesus called his followers to direct revelation
by way of "the kingdom within" and its
infinitely loving and all-inclusive God of healing
and growth. Accordingly, albums like "Inward
Destiny" and "Allelujah at Unity"
are universal enough to appeal to everyone, including
non-believers: David's elegant, tasteful guitar
playing and soaring harmonies satisfy a hunger and
thirst in all of us for the ineffable. Spiritual
seekers revel in this music, which portrays their
own search for the divine and their bliss in finding
it. |
| |
| A
beloved performer in churches and spiritual retreats,
David Aucoin (a French name pronounced oh-quaan,
with a short a) is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana.
The son of a professional drummer for a swing band,
David picked up a Roy Rogers guitar at age four
and was writing his own songs by age 10. As a teenager,
he wrote about love and the Vietnam war; in his
early twenties, about the pivotal breakup of his
marriage. |
| |
| "I
had always written about spirituality," he
muses, "but I wasn't aware of it until songs
of the spirit began to flow through me in the early
1980s." Then, as now, David sits down with
his guitar and allows lyrics to stream into his
mind. The music flows with it, like a current moving
so swiftly that sometimes he can't write it down
fast enough. Rarely does he change a word. |
| |
| David’s
inspired music will always express this impulse
toward beauty and Truth, which he calls "the
longings of my soul." While you'll hear a range
of feeling in the artist's refreshingly original
music, it's always a celebration of life inspired
by Spirit. |
| |
| Just
as David does, you'll feel the energy of Spirit
flowing through you in the powerful, high-energy
"God is My Shepherd" and "The Grace
Song." Like so many people, you'll tap your
toes, sway easily and find yourself singing the
tender harmonies in "One Step Closer"
("Everyone that I touch gives me courage to
carry on/Everyone that I meet brings me one step
closer") and also with the bright, happy lyrics
to "Love" ("Love, love, love, love/That's
all He wants us to do"). |
| |
| Few
people can resist humming along with David's uplifting
music and, indeed, here is the heart and soul of
it: to beckon you to the journey of soul so that,
if you choose, we may walk together along that path
of peace and oneness. |
