Lobsang's Sand Mandala Photos




Lobsang Samten at his kiosk in the rotunda of Philadelphia's Mint Building. His kindness shows, and you can see his artistic patience in the mandala's perfection.




Notice how meditative it is to allow tiny grains of sand to form the branches of little trees. In this photo you can also see the hand-worked beauty of Tibetan hangings.

Here are the pig, rooster and snake, representing the self-destructive emotions within us. In the ring around the center circle are our choices: the white light of meditation and its harmonic endeavors, or the attachment and entrapment of the merciless negative emotions.
